TL;DR

  • The oversubscribed seed round, backed by MS&AD Ventures, will fund laboratory network growth, the Axo Longevity's AI health copilot and wearable integrations
  • Across everyone who has tested with Axo Longevity, not one person came back fully optimal, and the typical person carried around 9.6 biomarkers out of range
  • Live operations in six markets, supported by more than 1,400 laboratory locations and a waitlist of over 19,000 people

Axo Longevity, a preventive healthcare membership, has closed an oversubscribed $5 million seed round to expand across Europe.

MS&AD Ventures, Izou Partners, LifeX Ventures, Everywhere Ventures, UNQ, 51 Ventures, Cistern Capital and NIAN Sports & Entertainment backed the round. Angel investors include Dr Jorge Planas of Clinica Planas Barcelona and Daniel Kulle, former President of H&M and former chief executive officer of Forever 21.

The capital will fund expansion of the laboratory network, continued development of the Axo Longevity’s AI health copilot and wearable integrations, and entry into the Nordics, Italy and Portugal.

From biomarker data to a plan you can act on

Founded in 2025 by Andrew McCarthy, Sergio Tang and Octavia Seymour, Axo Longevity provides a comprehensive picture of what is happening inside people's bodies. Each panel analyses 100+ blood biomarkers across 36+ health areas that shape long-term health, including cardiovascular risk, metabolic health, hormonal regulators, inflammation, nutritional status and biological ageing.

Those results feed a personalised health dashboard with an Axo Longevity Health Score and biological age, alongside a personalised action plan covering nutrition, movement, supplementation and follow-up testing.

The distinction that drives everything is the one between in-range and optimal. A routine blood test uses deliberately wide reference bands, built to rule out disease across a whole population. Optimal is the higher bar: the level associated with the body actually working well. Axo Longevity measures against that second standard.

Members book a blood draw at a partner laboratory near them, then retest six months later. That second panel is the part that matters. One set of numbers is a snapshot. Two sets, six months apart, show a direction of travel.

Axo Longevity Care, the core membership, includes two comprehensive panels a year. Pricing starts at 500 euros a year and varies by market.

What Axo Longevity data insights are showing

Anonymised, aggregated data from people who have tested with Axo Longevity shows how much remains undetected in people who feel well.

  • Not one person came back fully optimal. On average, around 54% of measured biomarkers reached a truly optimal level.
  • The typical person carried roughly 9.6 biomarkers out of range, almost always with no symptoms pointing to them.
  • Among those tested for lipoprotein(a), more than half were elevated. It is largely genetic, stable across life, and absent from a standard lipid panel, so most people never learn they carry it.
  • Around 8 in 10 had below-optimal DHEA-S, the upstream hormone that feeds both testosterone and oestrogen.
  • No one reached optimal cortisol, and around 15% sat in a clearly elevated range.

The gap that explains the rest of the picture is between two numbers that both look reassuring. Overall health scores, counting everything optimal or in range, sit near 86%. The optimal rate sits near 54%. That 32-point distance represents a population that is technically fine but quietly suboptimal, and it is where most of the modifiable risk resides.

This holds in a group already proactive about their health, the kind of people who invest in deep testing. If optimal is rare here, it is likely rarer in the wider public.

Our biomarker protocols are crafted by legends of sports medicine and longevity

Dr Niko Mihic, MD, CFPC, Chief Medical Officer

Over 30 years in elite sport and preventive medicine. Medical Supervisor at Real Madrid C.F., former Head of NBA Research in Europe and NFL Europe Medical Consultant. Forbes named him one of Spain's 25 most influential healthcare providers.

Dr Andy Walshe, PhD, Executive Longevity Advisor

Former Head of High Performance at Red Bull, where he directed Red Bull Stratos. He has advised NASA and the United States, United Kingdom and Australian Olympic teams.

Dr Jorge Planas, Longevity Advisor

He has over 30 years of experience in longevity medicine and is the Medical Director of Clínica Planas in Barcelona and Madrid. In 2025 and 2026, Forbes named him one of Spain's 100 best doctors. Dr Planas is also an angel investor in this round.

Axo Longevity's wider advisory group includes Michael Johnson, a twelve-time Olympic and World Champion; Mario Schlosser, co-founder of Oscar Health; Eric Solomon, a former senior executive at Google, YouTube, Spotify and Instagram; and Rosa Hamalainen, who helped scale Rupa Health.

A shift towards preventive, personalised care

Healthcare across Europe still responds only after something has gone wrong. Up to 80% of premature heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes is preventable, according to the World Health Organization, yet health systems across the OECD spend roughly 3% of their budgets on prevention.

There is a second number that explains why this matters to people who feel completely well. Globally, the gap between how long people live and how long they live in good health runs to almost a decade. Those are years spent managing conditions that were, in many cases, building quietly long before anyone looked.

"We are building a new global solution to provide preventive health, to eradicate preventable diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's and others, while optimising our physical and mental health," said Andrew McCarthy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Axo Longevity.

Blood biomarkers are one of the few places that early drift becomes visible while there is still time to change it.

Scaling across Europe

Axo Longevity went from build to live operations in twelve weeks. Since launching in 2025, we have expanded to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, alongside Peru, its first Latin American market. The company has built a network of more than 1,400 laboratory locations through certified partners including Randox, Eurofins, MDI Limbach and Multilab, and a waitlist of more than 19,000 people.

"Consumer health companies usually fail on operations, not on science," said Jon Soberg, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of MS&AD Ventures.

Axo Longevity is now operating in six countries, supported by Europe's largest working laboratory network, and members are returning for repeat testing. That kind of infrastructure and engagement is much harder than launching a single market, and that's exactly the kind of execution we look for."

"Europe has exceptional clinical infrastructure, but for consumers it is fragmented, and they might only be able to access it when they are sick," said Sergio Tang, co-founder and chief product and growth officer of Axo Longevity.

"We are delivering a single membership experience that works seamlessly and equips people with a data-driven understanding of their health and a clear action plan of exactly what to do next.

"This funding will allow us to grow our laboratory network, continue developing our AI health copilot and wearable integrations, and expand our services into the Nordics, Italy and Portugal."

Prevention should not be a privilege of people who already know what to ask for. It should be the default.

About the founders

Andrew McCarthy is the founder and chief executive officer of Axo Longevity.

A three-time founder across technology, health and hospitality, he previously founded Aikito, a business-to-business marketplace backed by Northzone and Bloomberg Beta, and Ethos, a community and hospitality brand for entrepreneurs. He studied at New York University, the London School of Economics and Universidad Iberoamericana. His own biomarker panel, taken while he considered himself in excellent health, surfaced cardiovascular risk markers that had gone undetected for years. That result became the reason Axo Longevity exists.

Sergio Tang is the co-founder and chief product and growth officer of Axo Longevity.

A product and growth executive with over a decade of experience scaling consumer and health companies, he was previously vice president at Ennu and marketing director for Latin America at Fandango, part of NBCUniversal. He holds an MBA from ESADE. His interest in preventive health is personal: a 60+ lb transformation of his own health became the basis for the work he now does at Axo Longevity.

Octavia Seymour is the co-founder and chief operations officer of Axo Longevity. A consumer operator with experience scaling leading UK direct-to-consumer brands including ainslie + ainslie, PINCH and Maker & Son, she began her career at Bain & Company and Rothschild. She is an Oxford alumna.
